Lonesome Train
Links op het toneel staat een gitarist zijn gitaar te stemmen, terwijl uiterst rechts een slungelachtig figuur over een staande bas staat gebogen. In het midden van het kleine openluchtpodium staat een jonge kerel met onverzorgd vet haar.
Hij draagt geen hemd onder zijn jasje en de armoede is hem eigenlijk al van ver aan te zien. De zanger loopt naar de microfoon, kijkt eerst naar de donkere wolkenmassa’s boven zijn hoofd, dan naar het publiek en vervolgens naar zijn gitarist.
Dan gaat het gebeuren! Een stevig ritme luidt de song in….dan begint de zanger met een vertolking van zijn “Lonesome Train” Het is zijn eerste optreden voor publiek, dat in de regen geboeid naar de opwindende zanger blijft kijken.
Die zanger was Johnny Burnette het was 1956, en het regende toen.
